In this Keynote presentation at the IATEFL BESIG Conference on 17 November 2018 in Iasi, Romania. Ian will discuss aspects of ‘British’ English that can present difficulties for those who work with UK companies and UK colleagues. Whilst communication runs fairly smoothly between many ‘non-native’ speakers, problems often occur when it comes to working with the British. Ian will draw on video and audio recordings which reflect the diversity of working life in the UK and suggest strategies and materials to facilitate improved communication with the ‘Brits’.
